All students admitted to Maritime College of Forest Technology are automatically enrolled in the Forest Technology Diploma program.

The Maritime College of Forest Technology (MCFT) was established in 1946 in New Brunswick, one of the four Atlantic Provinces on the east coast of Canada. The college offers a variety of interesting courses that will help prepare you for a career path in forestry and related fields. The programs taken at MCFT are Forest Technology and Field & Wildlife Technology. Students are exposed to studies such as:

To apply for admission at Maritime College of Forest of Technology, all applicants must be high school graduates or must have a General Education Development Certificate (GED), with a minimum grade of 65% in each required course.

The GED includes academic level Grade 11 Mathematics and Grade 12 English. Applicants must also be 18 years of age before the commencement of their chosen program. Mature students, that is, students who are already 25 years old or older before applying are given special consideration at MCFT.

Admission Requirements for International Students at Maritime College of Forest Technology

Evaluation for international students who apply to MCFT will be done on an individual basis and will be based on the standards set for education in Canadian provinces. Your admission will be determined by your high school/college/university preparatory courses.

English Language Proficiency Requirements at MCFT

Students whose first language is not English need to prove English proficiency requirements by taking any of the following tests:

You do not need to prove proficiency in the English Language if you fall into any of these categories

English Language institution implies a school where English is the primary language of instruction. Other international students who do not need to prove English Language proficiency are:

  • Those who studied in a Canadian high school for at least one year. Such students must have taken Grade 12 English (ENG4U/EAE4U) or it’s equivalent with a performance not lower than 70%.
  • Those who have studied at the secondary or post-secondary level in an English Language institution for at least three years. The students must provide any of the following qualifications:
  • A Level English Literature in GCE with a minimum grade of C
  • 3rd year in Upper Secondary School with a minimum grade of 10 in Denmark English
  • A minimum grade of 75% in India CBSE & CISCE year 12
  • 3rd year in Upper Secondary with a minimum grade of 4 in Norway English
  • 3rd year in Upper Secondary with a minimum grade of VG in Sweden English
  • Those who have studied at high school level in an English Language institution for at least one year in any of these countries:
