However, admissions at Herzing College are campus-specific. Different campuses have slightly varying admission requirements and processes. Note also, admission requirement may also be dependent on the choice of program.

Please Note:

International students wishing to study in Quebec must request the following documents.

  • A valid Certificat d’Acceptation du Québec (CAQ)
  • Valid Study Permit
  • Health and hospitalization insurance (Issued by Herzing College)

One among the 3 options is required.

  • Recognition of prior learning Annex 5 – Institutions outside of Canada whose academic records are recognized for equivalency or for admission to vocational training. Evaluation is done by Herzing College. You must send your latest transcripts and diploma with your application as early as possible. OR
  • Comparative evaluation of studies done outside Québec for DVS/D.E.P. programs. (Ministère de l’immigration, Diversité et Inclusion) OR
  • Certificate of secondary education (Equivalency) (Attestation d’équivalence de niveau secondaire) (A.E.N.S.) or TDG.

Financial assistance is available in several means to students who need additional funding for their academic tuition, study material, or general wellbeing. Below is a list of a number of funding options available to Herzing College students.

    • Several options may be available if you are unemployed, underemployed, low-skilled or low income and you are in need of extra income to cater for your educational and social need, through various work-study programs you will be able to access such funding.
  • OTHER SOURCES in MANITOBA
    •  Funding may be available through aboriginal bands and Manitoba Metis Federation. Contact their offices to obtain requirements and availability. For more information on possible funding contact the Workers Compensation Board of Canada or Vocational Rehabilitation.
  • QUEBEC
    • Every year, the Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche, de la Science et de la Technologie du Québec, enables some 140 000 Québec students who have insufficient financial resources, to pursue full-time secondary school level vocational training, college or university studies.

    • Initial student financial assistance under the Loans and Bursaries Program comes as a loan that you repay once you have finished your studies. INTERNSHIP EXPENSE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

OTTAWA

The internship is a rewarding experience that provides students with real-life experience and hands-on training. Many students usually undergo quite some hardship during the internship as a result of various expenses incurred in the process such as travel, child care, professional clothing purchase, etc.

In an effort to alleviate some of these expenses, Herzing College has partnered with some internship employers to offer qualified students weekly expense assistance while on internship.

Herzing College Scholarships, Bursaries, Grants

Herzing offers a variety of scholarships that are available to qualifying students. Bursaries and grants may also be available through the Provincial and Federal governments.

Note: Not all scholarships are available through all campus locations.

Herzing College General Scholarship

William R Rootham Scholarships:

This scholarship offers up to $20,000 ($5,000 per the main campus) every year in William R Rootham Scholarships, it will be awarded to selected students who are enrolled in technology programs such as networking or programming.

The Scholarships will generally be for $1,000 and will be applied pro-rata over the length of the program.  Except for a sudden change in a student’s financial condition, the Scholarship must be applied for, prior to commencing classes at Herzing.

The scholarships will be awarded based upon three separate criteria.

  1. Aptitude: This is a minimum of 25 on the Herzing Alternative Admissions Test. Scholarships will be awarded on a “first come first serve” basis. A total of 2/$1,000 scholarships will be awarded per campus.
  2. Need-Based: Limited to applicants who require additional funding to cover either living expenses or to cover tuition payments when available funding is less than total tuition and fees. Also awarded on a “first come first serve” basis. A total of 2/$1,000 scholarships will be awarded per campus.
  3. Interest in Field: Awarded to applicants who can best express their interest in education in the field of technology. A total of 1/$1,000 scholarships will be awarded per campus. We will use social media submissions to select a group of qualified entries from which a winner will be selected for the scholarships.

Academic Scholarship: 

A $1,000 scholarship is awarded to any applicant student who achieves a score of 28 or better on the Herzing Alternative Admissions Test.

Alumni Referral Scholarships: Herzing College Alumni is eligible to offer one scholarship worth either $1,000 for a program of 9 months in duration or longer or $500 for a program under 9 months in duration to a relative. Herzing College Alumni have the option to offer one $500 referral scholarship to any person they wish to recommend to the college.

Required Admission Documents

To be granted admission to Herzing College, applicants need to be at least 18 years of age on the start date of the program. International applicants need to submit the following documents required for admission –

  • Original birth certificate and official translation into French or English
  • Quebec issued a high school diploma for domestic applicants
  • International applicants need to submit the equivalent high school/diploma transcripts
  • English Language Proficiency
  • Copy of passport

English and French Language Proficiency Requirements for International Students

The diploma programs are either in English or French, therefore, international students are expected to fulfill the required language proficiency. For programs conducted in English, applicants should submit any one of the following test scores.

Note: Applicants who come from a non-English speaking high school but attended a post-secondary educational facility instructed in English may be considered for exception from providing English language proficiency requirement. However, this exception is not guaranteed.

French Language Requirement

As an international applicant, if you wish to enroll in programs conducted in French, the required language proficiency level are as follows-

  • DEC programs: B1 level
  • AEC programs: B2 level

International Students Immigration

Documents required by International students to study in Quebec province-

The entrance to courses is often placed on a first come first serve basis because seats are limited, as an international applicant you are advised to submit your application form and required documents well in advance so as to secure your admission.

Note: That the completion of your course does not guarantee a work permit after graduation.
