Admission Requirements At Red River College for International Students

To be eligible for admission into Red River College, all applicants must meet the admission requirements stipulated. If you do not meet all requirements within 30 days of making an application, you may not be selected for admission. In addition to the general requirements for admission, your chosen program may demand other criteria which you must meet. These may include additional coursework, submitting a resume, having an interview, completing an assessment, etc.

Some programs are referred to as Special Selection programs at RRC. For these programs, admission is based on meeting specific academic requirements which are calculated into Adjusted Grade Point Average (AGPA). Admission may also be determined by Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs).

The minimum academic requirement for admission is the Canadian grade 12 education or its equivalent. You will found out more specific information about academic requirements for your program by visiting the programs page of RRC. Other requirements for admission include language requirements and health requirements.

Documents accepted at Red River are only those sent by your institution. Notarized copies are not recognized. If you scan any document to upload, the resolution must be clear and the credential readable. Each file should not be more than 5MB, must be in PDF format, and must be named using your full name, student number, and document type. Where your credential is not available in English or French, it must be accompanied by a recognized English translation

When applying, the status for programs could be ‘open’, ‘wait’, or ‘closed’. An open program is available and is currently taking applications. A program with a ‘wait’ status means it has reached the application limit.

If you apply, you will be on the waitlist which will be referred to whenever anyone from the first set of applicants does not meet admission requirements. Your chance of admission when you are on the waitlist is quite low.

A closed program is not allowing for any more applications as all spaces are filled up, including the waitlist. A program that is not available is not offered during that session or academic term.

Students whose first language is not English have the option of meeting the English Proficiency requirements at Red River or taking the Intensive English for International Students program. You are to meet the minimum score requirements for any English Proficiency course you take. Accepted language tests include TOEFL, CAEL, and IELTS.
