BC College Of Optics is a post-secondary training institution in Canada, with British Columbia’s Private Training Institution Branch. the institution is a professional school that trains students in dispensing and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses. See webpage for more details. Due to the small class size, Admission To BC College Of Optics has limited seat. Applicants are admitted on a ‘first-come’ basis. Our Dispensing Optician/Contact Lens Fitter program has the following prerequisites:
- Grade 12, or equivalent, with elementary Algebra. or
- Must be a mature Student (out of school a minimum of 2 years) with elementary Algebra.
A ‘no-charge’ math assessment test is available only if a high school transcript is unavailable. Registration is done “on a first-come first-serve basis”.
Please note that these Admission Policies may not be waived by either the student or the College.
International Students Admission To BC College Of Optics
BC College of Optics is also designated by Canada Immigration as a post-secondary education institution for Foreign Student Study Permit purposes. Contact our Program Director for details.
Registration Fee is $250.00 ($350.00 if outside North America). You are advised to register early to save your seat.
Note: United States (US) residents do not necessarily need to obtain foreign student study permit before enrolling in the BC College of Optics opticianry program, since our course of instruction is not longer than six (6) months. Following graduation, our US students will be in an excellent position to pass both their ABO and NCLE National certification examinations, held in major US cities every year.
