To be admitted to Ambrose University under Regular Student status, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent standing in five (5) Grade 12 level courses.
A 60% average or higher in five subjects or their equivalent:
- English 30-1
- Subject from List A, B, C, or D

In addition to the Basic Admission Requirements listed above, some programs may have additional specific requirements for admission, which must be fulfilled before you can be admitted.
Canadian Homeschooled Applicants
You are to submit one of the following documentation indicating your senior year matriculation:
- You are to provide an official transcript from the provincial Department of Education as proof of the required Grade 12 courses as captured under “Regular Student” OR
- Provide a portfolio; of SAT* Reasoning Test scores of 1400 or higher in the three areas of Critical Reading, Mathematics, and Writing. All of these sections, however, must be at least a score of 400. Alternatively, you can submit an ACT score of 22 or higher; and an official letter from the homeschooling agency verifying Grade 12 courses.

International Baccalaureate/Advanced Placement
Should you have completed International Baccalaureate (IB) or Advanced Placement (AP) courses in high school, you are thus eligible to receive transfer credit to Ambrose University.

Note that your admission is based on your merit and performance at your high school and post-secondary study curriculum rather than your country of citizenship.

International Applicants
Any applicant from a country other than Canada will have their admission based on completion of the equivalent of Alberta senior matriculation (Grade 12).
A vital admission criterion at Ambrose University is that as a student from any country other than Canada, you must possess a valid Study Permit and passport before you enter Canada. Alternatively, you must be a Canadian permanent resident or citizen.
As an international student, you must provide your letter of acceptance from Ambrose University, with proof of finances to cover costs of study and living expenses while in Canada before Canadian Immigration officials.
United States Applicants
A US citizen or a permanent resident, you will only be considered for admission after presenting all of the following documents:
- Provide a high school graduation diploma with at least a grade of C or 60% or better
- Submit a completed SAT* Reasoning Test with a score of 1400 or higher on the Critical Reading, Mathematics, and Writing sections. However, no section score must be below 400 or an ACT score of 22 or higher.

United Kingdom and Commonwealth Countries
General Certificate of Education Advanced and GCSE/IGCSE/GCE Ordinary Level Certificates are accepted as senior matriculation with standing in five subjects:
- A minimum of two subjects at Advanced Level, as a rule, one of which must be English
- Nothing more than three subjects at the Ordinary Level
- C is the required minimum overall grade, and no subject may be accepted below grade C.

This admission is based on your high school and post-secondary study curriculum instead of your country of citizenship.
International Students
- As an aspiring foreign applicant to Ambrose University from another country, you must provide an equivalent to Alberta senior matriculation standard to be considered for admission. Consequently, you must present official certificates or credentials that grant you admission to a university in your home country.
- Start by ensuring you have completed and submitted an application for admission.
- Make arrangements to have your official copy of transcripts from past or present educational institutions sent directly from the institution to Ambrose University’s Enrolment Department.
- After your application is received, you will then be sent supplementary forms.
- Complete a Test of English as a Foreign Language
- At least a score of 560 on the paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or a minimum score of 83 on the internet-based TOEFL test.
- In other veins, submit a minimum score of 6.5 on the IELTS Academic test.
- Also, a minimum score of 110 on the Duolingo test.
- At least a score of 85 on the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB).
- Nothing less than a score of 70 on the Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL).
- A minimum score of 58 on the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic).
- A final grade in English is 30-1 or its equivalent.
- Note: The requirements may be waived at the university’s discretion in cases where a student has attended an equivalent institution in North America or can demonstrate English proficiency by other means.
- Ensure to allow at least six months to 1 full year to complete the entire process of coming to study in Canada.

- Ensure to apply for the fall semester starting in September on or before March 1.
- If you are applying for the winter semester starting in January, you should apply on or before July 1.
