Bishop’s University Scholarships is for both undergraduate and returning students.

Bishop’s university is offering Scholarships For International Students in Canada. Bishop’s University provides endowed scholarships, awards, bursaries, grants, and financial aid in excess of $7 million thanks to the generous support of students, alumni, faculty, staff, foundations, corporations, and private donors.

All international students who are eligible for any of the scholarships can apply and will be awarded the scholarship if he or she meets the eligibility criteria.

Each year approximately 62% of the student body receives financial assistance in one form or the other ranging from $500-$20,000.

Bishop’s University Programs

Undergraduate Scholarships

Under this scholarship is the competitive scholarship as well as the chancellor’s excellence scholarships

Competitive scholarships

This scholarship value is $500-$20,000 per academic year. Sometimes, the competitive scholarships may be renewable and other times it might come from the fact that you are a new student. To be eligible, you must

  • Complete your online application for admissions
  • You must have your supporting documents submitted before the deadline.

Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship

This scholarship is valued at $10,000 per year. The award is renewable for up to three additional years. Our sole aim of this scholarship is to reward students with outstanding academic records/ performance.

Bishop’s University Returning Students

Returning students of Bishop’s University must meet the following eligibility criteria before they qualify for any award or scholarship

  1. All Canadian, Permanent Residents, and International students will be considered.
  2. You must be registered full-time in both Fall and Winter semesters of the year you apply for
  3. You must have an academic grade and average (cum. average of 55% or better).
  4. Must demonstrate financial need and may also be eligible for a more specific award based on your situation.
  5. You must maintain full-time status and a fall 70% average to be eligible to receive the remainder of their awards/bursary in the winter semester.
  6. You must be a returning student. To be considered a returning student, you had to be registered in the Winter 2021 at Bishop’s University.

Bishop’s University Awards and Bursaries

Bishop’s University also has awards and bursaries programs ranging from $800-$8,000 per academic year for the students which are also accessible to international students.

Most of these awards and bursaries are one-time non-renewable available to entering students only.

To qualify for these awards and bursaries, all you need to do is complete your online application for admissions and complete the online awards and bursaries application by March 1st.

You must submit all supporting documents for admissions and application on or before March 15th.

The awards and bursaries team of Bishop’s University will then review all applications with complete admission files and make awards and bursaries offer soon immediately.

So, you must make sure to submit all necessary documents at the appropriate time.

These awards do not only include academic merit, leadership, extra-curricular activities, and financial need may also be considered while choosing candidates who qualify for these awards and bursaries.

The awards and bursaries form are available in December.

All awards are given range from $800-$8,000 per academic year.

Bishop’s University Scholarship Procedure: (only one application required)

  1. Complete each section of the application form.
  2. Describe your financial need and your situation as it applies to the criteria of the awards
  3. Provide copies for proof of income for yourself and your parents. Married couples must provide proof of income for their spouses in place of their parents. If you are in a unique situation and are not able to provide proof of parents/spouse, then you must detail your situation so the committee knows why you are not able to provide proof of income
  4. Submit your online application by May 1, 2021, and scan proof of income documents by May 15, 2021, to: [email protected] – you must send only one email with all supporting proofs.  Do not send any documents with a visible SIN number.
  5. Only complete applications with supporting documents will be considered.
  6. Recipients will be notified the week of August 15, 2021, via their BU email.

Apart from the scholarships, some award is also granted to international students which include

All awards given range from $800-$8,000 per academic year.

All Awards and Bursaries are disbursed in two equal installments once in the Fall and the balance in the Winter provided you are registered in a minimum of 12 credits each semester.

The funds are allocated to your student account after the add/drop deadline each semester.

Bishop’s University Library

The Library Learning Commons at Bishop’s University is designed to explore the rich intersections between learning, space, and technology.

The library which was built in 1959 to house the University’s library and archives collection was renovated in 2017/2018. The new Library Learning Commons is now at the center of campus life at Bishop’s.

It is situated on the west side of the University’s famous “Quad”, the building is a hive of activity throughout the academic year as students, faculty, staff and the community take advantage of all the services offered at the library.
