British Columbia Immigration Issues 38 Invitations Through 2 Entrepreneur Streams

British Columbia immigration has sent out thirty-eight (38) invitations in a new draw through its two entrepreneur streams.

The September 17 draw saw thirty (30) invites sent out through the Entrepreneur Immigration General Category, with a score of at least score 115 points.

There were also eight invitation to apply (ITA) issued through the Entrepreneur Immigration Regional Pilot, with a score of at least 108 points.

In the previous BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration draw, twenty-four (24) invitations were sent out through the same two streams.

The August 20 draw saw eighteen (18) invitations issued through the general class, and six (6) through the regional pilot. The minimum scores were 110 and 111 respectively.

British Columbia Entrepreneur Category

The British Columbia Entrepreneur stream/category is one of the streams created under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP), a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), managed or operated by the British Columbia province. This initiative is created to target experienced senior business managers or business owner-managers who wish to settle in British Columbia. Successful candidates must start a new business or buy into an existing business in which they participate in the daily operations and management duties.

After managing the business for a minimum of 550 days, the entrepreneur may be selected for Canadian permanent resident status.

What Are The Minimum Requirements For The B.C. Entrepreneur Category?

Business candidates in this British Columbia immigration category must fufill the following minimum requirements:

  • Demonstrate a minimum personal net worth of $800,000;
  • Make a personal investment of a minimum of $400 000 to start or purchase and expand an eligible existing business in British Columbia;
  • Create at least three jobs for Canadian permanent residents or citizens;
  • Participate in the daily operations and direction or the business;
  • Sign a performance agreement with British Columbia prior to nomination;
  • Applicants in the Entrepreneur category can sponsor a key staff member for permanent residence of Canada.

Community Requirements

  • The population of below 75,000.
  • Located beyond 30km from a municipality or area of more than 75,000 population.
  • Demonstrated ability to support foreign entrepreneurs with a network of settlement and business support conpanies.
  • Immigration and pilot-specific training must be finished by community representatives.

Candidate Requirements

  • Desire to start a business and live in a British Columbia regional community.
  • Complete an exploratory visit.
  • Minimum of $100,000 investments in eligible business.
  • The minimum personal net worth of $300,000.
  • Minimum of fifty-one (51) per cent ownership.
  • Minimum of one new job created for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
