British Columbia Invites 311 Candidates To Apply For Permanent Residence

British Columbia conducted a provincial nominee program draw on March 30, sending invitations to 311 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian immigration.

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Programs (BC PNP) invited 311 candidates under two immigration streams: Express Entry BC and Skills Immigration.

In order for candidates to be chosen via the Express Entry BC Class, they must have created a valid profile in the federal Express Entry pool.

Express Entry is Canada’s major routes for skilled immigrants who want to obtain Canadian immigration.

Express Entry controls applications for three of Canada’s major economic class immigration programs: Federal Skilled Trades Program, Federal Skilled Worker Program, and Canadian Experience Class.

Candidates who are qualified for Express Entry are allotted a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based on human capital factors such as work experience, educational qualifications, official language proficiency, and age.

Those candidates selected through the Express Entry BC provincial nominee program will be granted an extra 600 CRS points, effectively assures them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in a upcoming federal Express Entry draw.

The Skills Immigration Class is for skilled and semi-skilled worker whose occupations are in high demand in the province. Both class require applicants to register using B.C.’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS), which provides qualified candidates with a score based on factors such as their offer of employment, location in British Columbia, education, language proficiency, and wage.

The least score requirements were between 102 and 105 in the new selection round.
