British Columbia Issues 91 Invitations In The Latest Tech Pilot Draw

British Columbia has sent out 91 invitations to skilled workers and international graduate in a new BC PNP Tech Pilot draw.

The draw conducted on April 21,2020 featured invitations across four streams of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program. Minimum scores were Eighty-five (85) for all four streams/programs. The featured streams were:

  • SI – Skilled Worker
  • SI – International Graduates
  • EEBC – Skilled Worker
  • EEBC – International Graduates

The BC PNP Tech Pilot has been extended into 2020 after its first launch in 2017. It now has a list of twenty-nine (29) target occupations with simple duration requirements.

BC PNP draws is aimed at attracting technology workers, which started in May 2017. The province has a successful technology sector with some big names of the tech world basing themselves in British Columbia.

  • The job offer must be for one of the twenty-nine (29) targeted occupations
  • The job have to be for at least one-year duration
  • The job offer must be valid for minimum of 120 days at the time of application

A coveted provincial nomination effectively assures selection under the Canada Express Entry System, worth extra 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points.

British Columbia immigration department recently announced it will stop releasing scores for guaranteed Invitations to apply via the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program.

Instead, the province says applicants can see the scores required by checking the draw details published each week since 2016 when it first launched its version of Expression of interest immigration.
