The Burman university campus consists of Seventeen (17) buildings. These buildings include the administration building, the College Heights Christian School (for K-9 students), the College Heights Seventh-day Adventist Church, Parkview Adventist Academy (for grade 10-12 students), and a few other buildings.

Burman University Eligibility

Burman University deems both international and indigenous students eligible for admission only if they have IELTS/TOEFL/PTE or any other similar qualifications as an alternative. The university also accepts GRE as a viable qualification for admission.

US Students

Students who attended high school in the United States are readily admitted to the university based on their high school transcripts. Such students do not require any SAT or ACT scores for admission into the school, although students are still encouraged to take these exams.

All US students who have finished high school with at least a C in all of their courses are eligible for admission in Burman University.

Every other international student who wishes to be enrolled in Burman University is examined for eligibility based on secondary school or post-secondary school transcripts. English Proficiency Requirements

Burman University communicates with its students largely in English Language. The school has therefore made it mandatory for students seeking for admission to meet at least one of the English language proficiency requirements below:

  • IELTS: Burman University IELTS requirement is a minimum score of 6.5 in the English Language Testing System
  • TOEFL: students need to have a minimum score of 83 for the internet based exam or 560 for the paper based exam in Test of English as a Foreign Language to become eligible for admission.
  • CAEL: The university requires a minimum score of 70 in the Canadian Academic English Assessment
  • MELAB: a minimum of 85 in the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery is the eligibility score for admission into the university.
  • A minimum score of 110 in the Duolingo English test.
  • Successful completion of English 30-1 or any other equivalent from any other Canadian province with a minimum grade of 60% and a transcript as an evidence
  • Official transcript from any accredited post secondary school institution in America, the UK, Australia or Canada. The transcript must indicate a successful completion of an English Language course with nothing less than a grade of C.
  • Any other transcript showing completion of at least one year of full-time study in an accredited secondary or post-secondary institution where English was the language of instruction. The minimum score is 60% or a GPA of 2.0 out of 4.0.

Burman University Admission Requirements According To Courses

Depending on the chosen course of study, the University has some requirements for international students which are:

Biology

This is designed to provide students with an introduction to the various sub-disciplines of Biology.  It also provides students with the opportunity to prepare for medicine, dentistry, etc.

Eligibility

To be eligible, You must

  • Have a minimum CGPA of 2.30
  • Students who enter the University on probationary status will apply to the Biology program after having
    completed the Biology and Chemistry courses.
  • The CGPA of 2.30 must be maintained per semester
  • a completed Biology Program Application form must be submitted to the Biology Department.

Business

This prepares students to successfully compete in the current business environment.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must have

  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.30.
  • A completed School of Business Application form.
  • Attend a scheduled interview with the School of Business Admissions Committee.
  • The minimum cumulative GPA of 2.30 must be maintained throughout the semester.
  • The Committee will check your progress and make a decision concerning your admission.

Education

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must

  • Provide A current Security Clearance Certificate, supplied by the local police detachment.
  • The candidate’s file must contain the verification of statutory fulfillment and an unofficial transcript showing his grades.
  • Provide Three references from designated individuals giving evidence of moral, and ethical character.
  • Have an Interview with two faculty members from the School of Education.

General Studies In Arts and Science

This helps to develop and encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills as students explore a variety of academic subjects.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must

  •  Have the potential for broad interdisciplinary study, with a specialization in two to three areas.
  • Have an  independent selection of courses based on your interest
  • Have a  broad general knowledge across the disciplines.

Music

This helps to provide students with an understanding of music theory and history and to develop their
performance skills in voice, instruments, or keyboard.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must

  • Have a successful audition at the end of the 1st year of applied studies.
  • Have a keyboard proficiency exam prior to your registration.
