Canada Immigration Authorities Conduct Largest Express Entry Draw Of 2019 With 3,900 ITAs

Canada immigration authorities have held the biggest Express Entry draw in nine (9) months, giving out Invitations to Apply to 3,900 applicants.

The draw held in October equals the largest of 2019, ending the previous trend for the last six draws of giving out 3,600 ITAs.

The draw saw a Comprehensive Ranking System score (CRS) that’s as low as 464 points, two points higher than the last Express Entry draw.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has now invited 67,300 applicants in 2019, as against a high-skilled immigration target intake of 81,400.

IRCC broke the record for annual Express Entry invitations in 2018 with 89,800.

The draw saw the tie-break rule carried out on September 20, 2019, at 11.05 am EST. If more than one applicants had the minimum CRS score, only those who lodge their Express Entry identifications prior this date and time received invitations to apply for permanent residence.

Generally, this was the 20th round of invitations by Immigration Refugees’ Citizenship Canada under Express Entry in 2019 and 127th overall.

What is Express Entry?

Express Entry is an immigration system created and implemented by the Canada Immigration Authorities (IRCC) on January 1, 2015 which manages skilled worker application program under Federal Economic programs. This includes the Federal Skilled trade Program, the Federal Skilled workers Program and the Canada Experience Class and also oversees parts of the Provincial Nomination Programs.

Stakeholders and immigration applicants are expected to see near thirty (30) draws and more than 80,000 invitations sent out in 2019, with most of the draws featuring CRS scores below 460 to allow Canadian immigration authorities to meet targeted annual immigration levels for 2019.

Employers are advised to consider obtaining an LMIA or selection under provincial nomination programs (PNPs) to ensure there’s a long term retention of employees.

It is expected that the majority of applicants to be granted ITAs in 2019 will need a CRS score well under 460 points, enabling allowing a good number of candidates to obtain permanent admission to Canada without an employement offer or nomination under a provincial immigration program. But, getting an approved employment offer is highly recommended.
