Canada To End Visa Requirements For UAE Citizens. The Canadian government intend to end visa requirements for UAE citizens as it will help promote new business and investment.

Minister Ahmed Hussen explained that lifting the visa requirement between Canada and the United Arab Emirates will help affirm the strong relationship between the two countries as the United Arab Emirates is a strong strategic partner to the country.

The minster also made mention exemption will help promote new business, trade and investment opportunities. He said that visits lasting no more than 6 months is no longer mandatory.

The visa requirement for United Arab Emirate citizens travelling to Canada for short stays will end on June 5. Also, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) said the UAE meets Canada’s criteria for visa exemption. This was made after a “rigorous evaluation.”

Visa Requirements For UAE Citizens

United Arab Emirate citizens, similar to other visa-exempt travelers, will need an Electronic Travel (eTA) to fly to, or transit through a Canadian airport. The eTA allows Canadian officials to screen travelers for admissibility before they board their flight to Canada. Emirates will be able to apply online for an Electronic Travel authorization (eTA) after 5:30 a.m. ET (1:30 p.m. Gulf Standard Time) on June 5.
