As an international student applying to study at Capilano University for the first time, you must make a one-time down payment of a $5,000 deposit. This deposit will be applied against your international tuition fees once you have registered for courses at the university.

Capilano University Admission Requirements
Admission requirements at CapU are also dependent upon the program; however, at minimum, most programs only require successful completion of the following:
- British Columbia secondary school (Grade 12) or equivalent
- For International student requirements: Please see International Secondary School Equivalencies
- You must obtain a minimum grade point average of 2.0 (60%) calculated on English Studies 12, English 12, or English First Peoples 12, and two academic Grade 12 courses.

After submitting your application on EducationPlannerBC an acknowledgment message will be sent to your email from CapU.
- The message will include your Student ID number, myCapU account, and email address.
- Also, instructions on how to track your application will also be included.
- In addition, all future messages from CapU will be sent to your “myCapU” email.
- If you’re applying to CapU as a new student, you can use your myCapU account to apply for entrance awards.
Step 4: Submit your Official Transcripts
Even though you submitted a digital copy of your transcripts on EducationPlannerBC, you must submit official high school and university or college transcripts for admission.

- You may also submit photocopies of your academic documents verified by the issuing authority. These authorities include the Ministry of Education, your high school, university, or college, the apostille, or by the appropriate examination board.

- An academic document is deemed original if the institution issues it in accordance with its policies. Therefore, notarized copies are not acceptable.

Step 7: Receive a Letter of Acceptance and Apply for a Study Permit
You will receive a letter of acceptance in your myCapU inbox on paying your tuition deposit. This may be used to apply for, or renew, a study permit.
