Dalhousie University is a public institution located in Nova Scotia, Canada. The higher institution was established in 1818 but began its first class in 1838. Moreover, Dalhousie offers more than 4,000 courses and 180-degree programs across twelve undergraduate, graduate, and professional departments. The school is a member of the U15, a group of research-based universities in Canada.

In 1879, the university needed to be shut down due to a monetary issue before George Munro rescued them. He was an in-law to John Forrest, a member of the governing board of directors. Dalhousie University has three campuses in the Halifax Peninsula and a fourth, the Agricultural Campus, in Bible Hill, Nova Scotia.
