Standard Admission For Certificate Programs

Students applying for certificate programs, including the Health Care Aide Alberta Provincial Curriculum Certificate are expected to have the following qualifications:

  •  English (grade 12) and math (grade 10) or equivalent from another Canadian province, as verified by transcripts
    OR
  •  GED (score of 450 in LA and 400 in Math).
  • Be 18 years and above.
  • Must be 17 years of age, with a high school diploma (secondary school certificate).

Standard Admission For Diploma Programs

Students applying for diploma programs must have the following qualifications:

  •  English (grade 12) and math (grade 12) or equivalent from another Canadian province, as verified by transcripts
    OR
  •  GED (score of 450 in LA and 450 in Math).
  • Must be 18 years and above; OR
  • Must be 17 years of age, with a high school diploma (secondary school certificate).

Mature Admission

Cambrooks College will consider mature students, who may not possess the above qualifications if they:

  • Are 25 years or older.
  • Obtain an awesome result on an equivalency test. The candidate should obtain a 60% in the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test administered by the College.

How To Qualify For The General Admission Requirements

  • Prior to applying for our programs, you need to contact our International Students Officer ([email protected]), who will introduce you to our application procedure and discuss the suitability of our programs to your career goals.
  • Send documentation that shows that you meet the English language proficiency requirements.
  • Upon receipt of your application and language verification, our Admissions Officer will review your application, and contact you with the necessary information regarding your application status, and any further requirements.

Please note that: Foreign high school and post-secondary credentials will be assessed based on the international education guide, provided by the International Qualification Assessment Services (http://work.alberta.ca/Immigration/assessment-for-employment-education-or-licensure.html).

  • Download and complete the Cambrooks application form.
  • If you are successful, a letter of acceptance will be sent to you. You will then be required to pay a $500.00 non-refundable Student Registration fee, which will be credited to your tuition upon commencement of the program. The remaining tuition and fees are to be paid according to our Program Fees and Refund Policy.

Admission Requirements For International Students At Cambrooks College

After meeting the General Admission Requirements for students in Calgary, which include regular and mature students, International students are must be able to provide the transcripts directly from the candidate’s previous institution.

There must be Official English language translations for results that are not provided in the English language.

English Language Proficiency (ELP)

  • International students who have less than four years of full-time study in a Canadian school must present proof of English language proficiency.
  • Students whose first language is other than English, but were able to successfully complete four years or more in a country where the dominant language is English, are not required to provide proof of ELP but you must show evidence that passed Grade 12 English
  • International students who have less than four years in a country where the dominant language is English must provide evidence of English language proficiency
