How To Immigrate To Canada From Nepal

If you are looking to immigrate to Canada from Nepal, your best chances are to apply as an economic class immigrant.

Express Entry System

Express Entry is the main tool that Canada uses to manage skilled worker applications.

If you want to apply for immigration under the Express Entry system, you must meet certain requirements of at least one of these programs: the Foreign Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), the Foreign Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

Chances are that you will need to be qualified under the FSWP if you have never lived in Canada before.

Assuming you meet the requirements of the FSWP, you can then go ahead and lodge an Express Entry profile to Canada’s immigration services’ website for free.

You will have to take a language proficiency test accredited by immigration, refugee, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). If you wish to take the test in English, your options are either the CELPIP or IELTS exam. You have to also get your foreign educational credentials evaluated by a provider (such as WES) that is accredited by IRCC.

Based on your requirements such as your age, education, work experience, and language skills, you will obtain a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.

Fortnightly, IRCC invites Express Entry candidates with the biggest CRS scores to apply for Canadian permanent residence. Despite its travel restrictions, IRCC is still inviting successful candidates who live abroad since such people will be key to supporting Canada’s post-pandemic economy recovery. Canada is also targeting over 1.2 million new immigrants by 2023, according to its Immigration Levels Plan 2021-2023.

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is another main economic class immigration route for those coming from Iran. The PNP is the second-biggest skilled worker pathway after Express Entry.

The PNP gives Canada’s provinces and territories the ability to select prospective immigrants who meet their economic needs.

You can directly apply to a province or territories’ Provincial program. You can also make yourself available to the provinces and territories for them to examine or assess your profile and then offer you an opportunity to get a nomination from them.

You can do this by opening a valid Express Entry profile. If a province invites you to apply to their PNP, you will get an extra 600 CRS points which will practically guarantee your success under Express Entry.

Candidates are directly able to apply for a specific PNP program. In addition, creating an Express Entry profile gives you more opportunities.

Once you are in the Express Entry pool, you may get an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence, or you may receive an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination if the territory or province is interested in your profile.

People from Nepal have over 100 skilled worker immigration pathways they can opt for. In addition to Express Entry and the Provincial nominee programs, Canada offers many other permanent residence immigration routes for skilled workers.
