Humber Institute Of Technology And Advanced Learning

Humber institute was established in 1967 under its founding president, Gordon Wragg. The Humber Institute Of Technology And Advanced Learning was  commonly known as Humber College. It is a publicly funded college in Toronto city, capital of the province of Ontario, southeastern Canada. Toronto has the most populous metropolitan area in Canada and, as the most important city in Canada’s most prosperous province, is the country’s financial and commercial centre.

Humber institute has three main campuses, Humber North campus, Lakeshore campus, and Humber Orangeville campus. The Lakeshore Campus began with the addition of the manpower retraining programs on Queen Elizabeth Way in Etobicoke. Humber  developed new programs in early 1980’s in order to respond to demand from industries and businesses by focusing on flexibility in class schedules, including a weekend College. Its training courses include self-paced programming along with Holland College in Prince Edward Island. It became one of the National Centers for industry driven DACUM curriculum.

After the mid-1980s, the institution had its focused more on Applied Arts programs and refocused its energy on internal processes rather than program innovation and on local rather than national or international activities. In Humber college, students are allowed to work while studying. The institutions welcomes international students who wish to study in Canada.

Humber institute of technology and advanced learning is Located along the shores of Lake Ontario, at Kipling and Lake Shore Blvd. W, Humber’s Lakeshore campus located in New Toronto has approximately 7,200 full-time students, with 400 living in residence.
