Admission Requirements at Langara College
The basic requirement for admission into Langara College is one or all of the following:
- Successful completion of a British Columbia Secondary program (Grade 12) o it’s equivalent
- Being at least 19 years old as on the first day of the lesson at the college
- Completing an Adult Basic Education (ABE) or General Educational Development (GED) program.
Students are also expected to meet English Language requirements as prescribed. Some programs may have specific requirements such as participation in an interview or submit a portfolio.

All transcripts and results you submit must be official documents sent by your school or testing authority to the office of the Registrar at Langara College. Where your documents are not in English, you must provide official English translations and submit them alongside your documents.
If you apply to Langara and have been admitted even when your secondary school grades or transcripts are not ready, you must complete and submit the Appeal for Admission and Re-Admission form after you register for your courses.
If you do not, you will not be able to maintain your course registration and you may lose admission.

The requirements given above are the minimum language requirements at Langara College.
You have a higher chance of admission if you do better in any of the tests or stipulated programs.
However, meeting the minimum language requirements does not automatically grant you admission.
If you are taking any test other than the Langara English Test (LET), you may still be required to take certain English Language courses upon admission.
Also know that Language tests such as CAEL, EAP, and IELTS must not be taken later than two years. If you submit results for tests taken later than the past two years, they will not be recognized.
Langara English for Academic Purposes (LEAP)
The Langara English for Academic Purposes (LEAP) program is an available option if you don’t meet the specified proficiency requirements. The minimum requirements for LEAP have been included in the table above and you may enroll in the program through the college’s website.
By completing at least four years of study in certain countries, you will be able to meet the English requirements for admission to Langara College in some programs. The countries are:

How to Apply to Langara College as an International Student
There are two methods you can use to apply to Langara College as an international student. One is to apply online and the other is to make a paper application. Applying online makes the processing faster but not all programs at the college allow for that.
You can check the requirements for your program of choice to know which option to opt for. Do not submit an online and paper application for the same academic term. You are allowed to use only one application procedure.
You apply online to Langara College using the EducationPlanner BC platform. It allows you to upload all your documents and submit them only once even when you are applying for two programs. Follow these steps to apply:
- Visit the EducationPlanner BC website
- Create your account using your email or username and a password
- Click on the apply option and fill in your basic profile details. If you are applying to Langara for the first time or you have not applied to the college for the past two or more terms, you are to complete the New International Applicant form. Use the Returning International Student application form if you have been a student of Langara before or you have applied in the last two terms.
- Select Langara College as your institution of choice
- Complete the application by filling in other necessary details and uploading all required documents
- Review your application and submit it.
If you are applying for two programs, upload your documents only once in the application for your first program of choice. The single uploading will apply for both applications. If you need to upload more documents in your application, you should email [email protected]
This involves manually filling the application form. Download the form, fill in your details and upload a PDF file or image of the completed form. You will also upload your documents alongside the form. Using a paper application requires you to pay a non-refundable application fee of $155.
You will receive an offer of admission by mail if you have been admitted to Langara College. Accept the offer by paying the International Students Deposit fee of $1500.
This is non-refundable and non-transferable. After the payment, you will be sent your Letter of Acceptance.
You will need this to obtain a study permit from the Canadian embassy available in your country.
