Manitoba invited 404 Express Entry candidates in a new round of invitations, in an unusual draw held on May 27.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) Express Entry candidates who may be eligible for the Skilled Workers Overseas stream.

The Invited 404 Express Entry candidates needed to have a minimum Expression of Interest (EOI) score of 601 in order to be invited.

This score is tabulated based on Manitoba’s EOI scoring matrix.

It is not the same as the federal Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) for Express Entry. There was no CRS requirement for this draw.

Typically, the province only invites a few Express Entry candidates at a time.

The majority of invites are divvied out between candidates who may be eligible for the Skilled Workers in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and non-Express Entry candidates applying under the Skilled Workers Overseas stream.

Invited candidates may now apply for a provincial nomination from Manitoba.

Since they all have Express Entry profiles, a nomination from a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) will automatically grant them an extra 600 CRS points toward their score, more than enough to receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence.

About Express Entry

Express Entry is a major way Canada processes and manages skilled worker applications.

It is possible to get a permanent residence invitation by filing through Express Entry directly.

Such invitations are sent out by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

In addition, one can enter the Express Entry pool and then obtain an invitation from Manitoba province.

To enter into the Express Entry pool, you need to meet the eligibility requirements of one of the three Express Entry programs.

You are then ranked based on a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score that takes into cognizance certain factors like your work experience, age, education, and language skills.

In this draw, for instance, the 207 immigration candidates receive invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residence via regular Express Entry draws.

You gain an extra 600 CRS points if you receive a provincial nomination from a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

This practically guarantees you will get an Invitation to Apply (ITA) from IRCC.

You don’t need to be residing in Manitoba at the time of your application to be qualified.

In order to obtain an invitation under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba class, you need to have a full-time job offer from a Canadian employer.
