Manitoba Invites 360 Skilled Foreign Workers And International Graduates

Manitoba invites 360 candidates, skilled foreign workers and international graduates were the focus of this recent Expression of Interest (EOI) draw.

Details of the August 15 draw, which were announced only recently, shows that Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) sent out a sum of 360 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) for a provincial nomination for Canada PR through its Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas immigration route and the International Education Stream.

Of the 360 LAAs sent out, thirty-two (32) went to applicants with valid profile in the federal Express Entry system.

The MPNP enables Manitoba to select qualified foreign citizens for Canadian permanent residence who have the required skills requested by local employers.

Skilled Worker in Manitoba

A total of 241 invitation to apply went to applicants in the Skilled Worker in Manitoba category, which offers a route to Canadian permanent residence for eligible temporary foreign workers and international student grads who are currently working in Manitoba and have been offered a full time job position with an eligible employer.

Skilled Worker in Manitoba applicants have to register an expression of interest profile online and provide information the necessary information about their education, work experience and ability in English or French, among other info. The profiles of qualified candidates are then given a score out of 1,000 and added to the Manitoba Expression of Interest (EOI) pool.

The lowest-ranked applicants invited via the Skilled Worker in Manitoba category had a score of 542.

Skilled Worker Overseas

A sum total of Eighty-three (83) applicants in the Skilled Worker Overseas stream were also invited in the latest draw.

Skilled Worker Overseas applicants issued LAAs in this draw were invited under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative, which includes overseas recruitment missions managed by the MPNP in conjunction with Manitoba employers.

Like the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, Skilled Worker Overseas applicants must complete an Expression of Interest and meet the stream’s basic criteria.

The lowest-scoring Skilled Worker Overseas applicants in this draw had an Expression of interest score of 685.

Applicants in the federal Express Entry platform who were invited needed to have a valid Express Entry ID and job seeker validation code along with verifiable relevant experience in an occupation on Manitoba’s In-demand Occupations List.

International Education Stream

The International Education Stream (IES) is for those graduates who completed post secondary education in Manitoba, who fit the province’s labour market requirements.

There are three (3) sub-categories in this stream: Student Entrepreneur Pathway, Career Employment Pathway, and Graduate Internship Pathway.

The MPNP sent out thirty-six (36) LAAs to International Education Stream applicants in the August 15 draw.

Manitoba has now sent out a sum of 5,810 invitations thus far this year in Sixteen (16) EOI draws.
