Eligibility Requirements For the 132 Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream

The Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream (SWM) is based on the specific requirements of employers in Manitoba. SWM chose foreign-trained workers with the required skills and nominate them for Canada immigration. The stream prioritizes individuals with strong ties to Manitoba, with two pathways to Manitoba immigration.

a) Manitoba Work Experience Pathway

For candidates currently working in Manitoba on temporary work permits, via the Temporary Foreign Worker Program or as international graduates from any Canadian province. Applicants do not need to be working in In-Demand Occupations.

b) Employer Direct Recruitments Pathway

For candidates from overseas with job offers from approved Manitoba employers.

Eligibility Requirements For Skilled Worker Overseas Stream

The Skilled Worker Overseas program includes both a dedicated Canada Express Entry Pathway and direct provincial pathways.

It targets international skilled workers with skills and training in Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations. Preferences are given to applicants and spouses with close family ties, plus the language abilities, training and experience to finding jobs quickly.

a) Manitoba Express Entry Pathway

For international candidates qualified under another MPNP stream, who also meet Express Entry requirements and have an active Express Entry profile. Candidates require skills, trainings and experience in one of Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations, and a strong family attachment to the province.

b) Human Capital Pathway

For international skilled workers with relevant skills, training and experience in one of Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations. Candidates must show potentials to find jobs soon after they arrive in Manitoba.

Eligibility Requirements For International Education Stream

The International Education Stream (IES) is aimed at international graduates from Manitoba post-secondary institutions. Under IES, candidates are not required to work for six months in their field before filing for an MPNP nomination. This stream has three major pathways:

1) Career Employment Pathway

  • Have a full-time job offer in a Manitoba In-Demand occupation relevant to the completed degree

2) Graduate Internship Pathway

Graduates of Masters and Doctoral degree programs can apply for nomination through internships even without a job offer in the Manitoba province.
