When to Apply

It is firmly recommended that you apply within 30 days from the date of formal acceptance to your chosen program at the university, this is because funding for this program is limited and is disbursed on a rolling basis until resources are exhausted. The application officially closes on June 30th.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the McGill University McCall MacBain Scholarships for 2021/2022 session for both full and partial scholarships, you must meet the program eligibility requirements as under listed below:

  • You must be a domestic or an international student.
  • You must hold a bachelor’s certificate or its equivalent.
  • You must possess a high school certificate.
  • You must have Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or refugee status in Canada
  • You must have a bachelor’s degree, or are in line to graduate before August of 2022.
  • You, however, may not hold any other scholarship at the same time as obtaining a McCall scholarship.
  • You are also to fulfill the English Language requirement of McGill University.

This Scholarship Covers

  • Up to 20 full scholarships yearly, which will be offered across Canada.
  • About 30 other finalist awards of $10,000 each for graduate studies at McGill University.
  • About 28 other regional awards of $ 5,000 each for graduate studies at any public university in Canada

Application Procedures  

The McCall MacBain Scholarship application will be open from June to September 2021 if you are planning to start a program in the Fall of 2022.

In addition, you must also apply directly to McGill for at least one eligible full-time master’s or professional program for Summer/Fall of 2022 admission.

You’ll need to apply by the program deadline or by mid-December 2021 at the latest if you are selected for final interviews.

If you are awarded an entrance scholarship and still require funding for your studies at McGill, you should consider the entrance scholarship as only one part of a potentially larger financial assistance package that may include the underlisted options which are available for you to take advantage of.

Furthermore, there are numerous external awards that are also available every year from a host of associations, corporations, organizations, and foundations. There are also new scholarship programs that are being established constantly.

Payment Methods

If you become a recipient of one of the scholarships or entrance bursaries, it will be credited to your student fee account in two equal installments at the start of the fall and winter terms.

Therefore, you need not concern yourself or be distraught if your award is not reflected in your initial e-bill. Nevertheless, when you get a notification at your McGill email that your e-bill is ready, you are to deduct the corresponding amount (if not already considered) and remit the balance.
