How the New Immigration Pathway works
To be accepted for a provincial nomination through the Labour Market Priorities category for Physicians, candidate must have a created profile in the Express Entry system, which is Canada’s primary source of skilled foreign talent.
Express Entry controls the pool of candidates for Canada’s three Federal High Skilled immigration streams and holds regular invitation rounds through which a specified number of the highest-ranked candidates are invited to file for Canadian permanent residence.
Qualified physicians nominated by the NSNP receive a Letter of Interest (LOI) through the Express Entry system and have Thirty (30) days from the date it was sent out to apply for a provincial nomination from Nova Scotia.
Candidates who are approved for a provincial nomination receive an extra 600 points toward their Express Entry ranking score and are practically guaranteed an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence.
Also, the NSNP has a dedicated Physician Stream that’s running outside of the Express Entry system.
