Prince Edward, Canada Immigration Opportunity for 100’s of Applicants! Each year, the Immigration office of Prince Edward Island conducts Expression of Interest Draws which offers candidates unique Canadian immigration option from the federal Express Entry pool.
On April 19th 2018, the draw witnessed more than 169 invitations. These invitation draws were under the category of Business Impact and Labor Impact/Express entry.
How the 2018 Expression of Interest Draws was conducted?
Seventy-seven (77) invites were issued under the category of Labor Impact with a score range of 22-85. The invites given to candidates who are working on the Prince Edward Island were 75 under the category of Canada Express Entry. Each candidate had a score range of 37-87. Seventeen (17) invited were sent out to the candidates under the category of Business Impact with a score range of 135-155.
These draws are conducted periodically by the Prince Edward Island immigration authorities and the third draw took place on April 19th 2018.
On 15th March 2018, the second expression of interest draw was conducted and 79 candidates were invited to apply for provincial nomination.
The immigration authorities also issued invitations to 72 candidates who were offered a job from the Prince Edward Island Company. These candidates were invited under the Express Entry or Labor Impact category.
Seven (7) other candidates were invited under the Business Impact category.
All You Need to Know About the PEI Express Entry Stream
It is important to know that the Express Entry category can only be used by those candidates who are chosen for a provincial nomination in the express entry pool.
When a candidate is nominated under the express entry stream, it automatically adds 600 points to the CRS of the candidate. This, in turn, ensures that the candidate gets an invitation to apply for Canadian Immigration.
Each candidate must fill a simple form on the official website portal of the provincial government while applying for a nomination from the Prince Edward Island. Candidates who fill the form online is considered to have shown interest to migrate to the Prince Edward Island. Only eligible candidates will be contacted by the immigration authorities.
Labor Impact Category of PEI
The labour impact category is divided into two important categories which include the Critical Worker Stream and the Skilled Worker Stream.
Critical worker stream
The critical worker stream category is for foreign migrant workers who are employed in streams that are in hot demand. This category of workers is designed to solve the problem of shortage of skilled workers in specific areas. Full-time employment in PEI is available in the following areas of employment.
- Truck driver
- Housekeeping Attendant
- Food and beverage server
- Customer service representative
Selection criteria nominations are as follows:
- Candidate must be of age 21-55 years
- Candidate must be interested in settling in PEI
- Candidate must have a valid work permit of Canada
- Candidate must have the basic proficiency in either English or French
- Candidate should also have a formal education of 12 years and a high school diploma
- Candidate must have a work experience of at least 6 months.
Skilled Worker Stream
This category is for candidates who will be nominated for permanent residency through the skilled worker stream if they satisfy the following:
- Age limit between 21 and 55 years
- Fluency in English or French
- Should aim to settle in PEI
- Should have full-time work experience of 2 years
- PEI offers full-time employment on the basis of different skill levels such as O, A and B.
- Must have a formal education of 14 years along with post-secondary education.
Prince Edward Island PNP Draw Dates For 2019
For those applicants anxiously waiting the next draws of PEI Provincial Nominee Program of Canada. The draw dates are carefully listed below. The province has launched Six draws this year, i.e. on 17th January, 21st February, 21st March, 18th April, 16th May and 20th June. The next draw is awaited in a couple of days.
