Ancaster is a community in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. it is Upper Canada’s largest industrial and commercial centre. Ancaster had the first Nations roads which lead to its rapid economic growth. the city was formally established in 1792. James Wilson and Richard Beasley were the primary founders of the Ancaster village. In the year 1791 and 1792, Wilson built a gristmill and sawmill and they were the only mills in Ancaster for so many years. During that period, the first Nations people were the main occupants of Ancaster. Half of the mill was sold in 1794 to the Montreal-born fur trader. Since its inception, it was part of the Wentworth County Board of Education.
