Admission Requirements for University Transfer Students

If you have been previously studying at an accredited degree-issuing institution, you can apply to Western University as a university transfer student. To do this, you must have an overall average of at least 70% up to the last examinations you wrote at the institution.

Students in their first year may be accessed based on their first semester results and final secondary school average. Those in the second year or higher will be accessed based on the cumulative university results. Your school should send your transcripts to Western University and must be in the format requested.

If you have already completed an undergraduate degree before applying to Western University, you will be regarded as a Special Student. Your degree must be equivalent to Western’s 3 year Bachelor’s Degree or higher degree options and you must have made a minimum overall average of 60%.

Special Students will still be admitted for undergraduate programs. If you wish to apply for graduate studies instead of using your previous degree, you should apply through the School of Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Studies.

As a special student, you cannot be admitted to Western for the same degree you received in your previous university.

This means you have to apply for a program different from that of your previous degree to be eligible for admission as a special student.
